Chapter 1

Dina crept through the dense forest as the sun set in the west.  Her tan robes were ripped and torn from the shrubs’ tricky grasp, and her red hair was a mess.  As she reached her campsite, she gave an involuntary sigh of relief.   One Sith down, who knows how many more to go.  And that was just a scout! She flopped down in front of the smoldering fire and began to prepare her evening meal.

Vadir stood up from the stump that she was sitting on.  She heard something, but what was it?   Her dark cherry red eyes glanced around.   Vadir shoved a strand of her pitch black hair out of her view.  She reached out with the force in which she was taught to use. Vadir grabbed her double bladed light saber and began to scout for any sign of life.

Suddenly, a sharp snap in the force brought Dina to full alert.  She stood, scanning the trees for the unseen foe.  These parts weren’t meant for Padawans for a reason.  She was lucky to have gotten in these for the trials – a special request from her master.  Her left hand fingered her lightsaber, ready for any and everything.  The young Jedi could sense danger, and crouched in readiness, instinctively taking up the Soresu ready stance – feet spread, right arm forward, saber held horizontally in front of her chest in line with the right hand.

Vadir worked her way through the brush and trees.   ‘Stay calm.’  She thought to herself over and over again.  ‘Stay calm!’   She stopped beside a rather large cluster of trees.  ‘A Jedi!’  She gave a small gasp.  ‘ShaKuf could of warned me about this.’  She slowly made her way behind the Jedi, unseen, and prepared for attack.

Dina whirled around at the sound of cracking twigs.  It was there, in the bushes…the red headed jedi could feel the Sith’s presence.  She shuddered.  The Sith from yesterday had been strong – very strong.  Dina had fought desperately for that victory.  She grasped her saber tighter, trying to ignore the cold sweat on her palms.

Then, she leapt for the invisible attacker, using the Force to guide her to the stalker.  Her green blade buzzed to life as she landed, giving an eery glow to the combatant’s surroundings.

Vadir stepped back from her attacking enemy, raising her light saber to block the blow.  She took the stance on Djem So.  She gave the Jedi a force push and readied her saber.  “What do you want, Jedi?”  She asked rather meanly.

“I am here to protect the native people of this planet from your cult’s oppression and corruption.” Dina said, bringing herself to her full 5’9”.  “I want your people to leave.” She paused, “Or die…preferably quickly, for either choice.”

Vadir sighed, never letting her guard down.   “The Sith have all ready clamed this planet for their own.”  She shook her head to get a clump of her wavy hair out of her face.  It was always getting every where!   “Now go.  Or I shall take action.”  She threatened.

Dina’s eyebrow shot up into her hairline.  “I will not allow the Sith to take any planets, especially not this one.  It is a Sovereign planet, with its own governing system and traditions.”  She restated her stance, bringing her balance back to her heels. “Leave…NOW.”

Vadir rolled her eyes.  “Do you really think that one lone Jedi can force over 100 Sith off of a whole planet?”  She taunted the Jedi, trying to make her blow her temper.  “Enough talk, lets fight!”  Vadir rushed forward and slashed at the Jedi.  ‘This is nutsy!!!’  She thought.

Dina dodged the blow, and struck back with equal force as the Sith parried and twirled randomly.  At least it was the same technique as the other Sith; she had learned it somewhat on the fly – literally at times.

“You’re bluffing about the 100 Sith!” she yelled at the pale-faced girl, “I would have felt them!”

“Are you so sure?” Vadir pushed harder on the saber.  “Why don’t you just run your little Jedi scum filled legs over and meet them?”  She smiled a mean smile.  “They always love a Jedi visitor.” She twirled and nearly slashed the Jedi’s leg off.  “ARRRRRRRGH!!!!”  Vadir yelled.  She began a usual transfer.  Channeling her fury into her anger and using her anger as a weapon against her enemy.  This always won a battle.  ‘A victory is awaiting me!!!’  She thought,  glorious.

Chapter 2

Dina lunged to the side, nearly avoiding another swipe at her legs.  Executing a perfect backflip, she leapt over the sith, bringing her saber down on the hilt of the Sith’s, slicing the tip clean off.  It tumbled to the dirt, and the Sith’s blade deactivated with a quiet sputter.

“If all of your Sith fight like you do, I wouldn’t mind a visit.” She said hautily.

Vadir growled.  ‘Finally, a Jedi that can do a backflip….joy.’  She deatached her other light saber from the end of the broken one.  She tossed the broken one aside and looked up at the Jedi.  “You might of won this battle, Jedi glop,”  She snarled. “But I shall await out next battle with an anxious mind.”  She retreated into the shadows.  “Jedi mush.”  She whispered as she made her way back to her Sith fort.  She had not bluffed about the 100 Sith.  They just weren’t on the planet.

“Don’t you turn your back on me!” Dina said threateningly. “Turn around and face me…Or are you a coward?”  Of all the things to call a Sith…that was the name to call them…cowards.

Vadir did not respond.  A voice can only carry so far.  Vadir reached her camp sit and grabbed her replacement saber.  “You better do better than the last one.  You hear me, Leafy??”  She then spun around and faced the approaching Jedi.

Dina didn’t bother making another retort at the young Sith apprentice.  She leapt in front of her, closing the distance between them in seconds and slashing at the Sith’s arms with her emerald blade.  There was a job to be done, and by Chooba, she was going to do it.

Dodging and blocking, the fierce Sith apprentice battled on.  Vadir smiled at the Jedi.  “You know,”  She slashed at the Jedi quickly.   “I know a whole lot more that you think I do!!”  She rushed up and kick the Jedi in the guts.  She brought her leg back before the Jedi could cut it off.  This was going to be a well fought battle.

Dina snarled as she missed the Sith’s leg by a finger’s width.  It would have made the fight so much easier just to lop off the limb.  She twirled her lightsaber, the shining blade a blur as she delivered a series of resounding blows.  She could feel the nasty bile like taste of the Dark Side creeping up, twisting her stomach into knots.

Unseen, a Freetrade Bounty Ship lowered into the atmosphere.  Bintu looked at his monitor and smiled.  Two force sensitive  lifeforms down on the planet…his client would be pleased.

He tapped his commbadge. “Lilith, ready the teleports.  We have cargo to load.  Make sure you have a level five force field up.  They might get a little rough.”
